The Magic Route is the best way to get to know Bocairent’s Medieval Quarter, since walking around it you will find the key elements that define its physiognomy: mansions of surprising heights, stately streets and other narrower ones and the houses that lie in the ravine, like real hanging houses.
The route starts from the Town Hall Square, where the enormous 17th and 18th century houses with a height of up to eight floors are surprising; this is the result of the steep slope of the mound on which they are located; on the other side of the houses, you can access the fifth or sixth floors. We leave the square behind and go into Mosén Hilari street, flanked by large houses until we reach the “Covetes dels Moros” viewpoint, where we can appreciate the peculiarity of this monument excavated in a rocky wall and formed by around fifty small rooms. Advancing along the route, we will reach the bridge of Darrere la Vila and the Covetes del Colomer.
