The first news about the origins of the Parish of St. Michael the Archangel can be found in the 14th century, when it is recorded that the priest of Agres attended the diocesan synods held in Valencia.
It is also known that during the year 1615 works were carried out to alleviate the damages suffered by a great earthquake. During the same 17th and 18th century, the reforms to the old building continued until it had its current appearance. At present, the church is still unfinished as the bell tower was never finished.
Inside you will find works of art by renowned painters in the area such as Vicente Cerdá, Joan Pascual and Remigio Soler.
