It is one of the best preserved public washhouses (old laundry) in the area and it’s located in a place of great beauty, Plaza del Azud. In addition, this 19th century washhouse is one of the largest of all those preserved in the province of Alicante. At present it still collects the water from the Azud that takes advantage of the waters of one of the tributaries of the river Agres. From the bottom of the wash house you can see perfectly the waterfall and the drainage channels that fall into the river. It is a very pleasant corner to rest for a while listening to the murmur of the water.
