The Cova de les Finestres is located in the Barranc del Pont Trencat, in the municipality of Alfafara. They are artificial caves of a troglodytic nature that look like windows from the outside and are always built in the middle of a steep cliff, normally in the river valleys and ravines.
They consist of 12 cavities carved into the rock, some of which are unfinished. The lowest ones are about 4 m. above the ground and can be accessed by a wooden staircase. There is a group of interconnected chambers between them and others that are not accessible. These caves have had many interpretations but finally it seems that they were used as a granary-warehouse. They are linked to the Moorish Caves of Bocairent and the Pou Clar Caves of Ontinyent.
Their interior goes beyond a simple cavity as it might seem from the outside, since they are made up of several rooms, connected to each other by other interior windows or holes and even wells to communicate those at different levels.
