This chapel was built after the reconquest by the troops of James I in 1245, who, following custom, built the chapel above the entrance to the town, so that anyone who entered through this entrance would be protected by the Virgin.
The portal is known as Porche la Mare de Déu d’Agost or del Almaguer. On the façade of the chapel, there is an altarpiece of the Virgin. The chapel is topped by a solid belfry with a bell and a simple wrought-iron cross. Its festivity is on the 15th of August.
