The Festero Museum of Banyeres de Mariola is located in the castle’s homage tower, one of the many that the Almohads built in the first half of the 13th century. The castle stands at an altitude of 830 metres and was built between the 12th and 13th centuries.
The Festive Museum located inside it allows you to discover the uniqueness of the Moors and Christians festivals in the town through a series of explanatory panels. In addition, the first room, next to the cistern, exhibits the official costumes of each group.
Ground floor: here you can find a small explanation about the castle, its construction and the archaeological remains found in it; you can also see the importance of the Moors and Christians festivities in the history and life of this municipality.
First floor: chronology of the festive acts.
Second floor: history of the evolution of the festival programmes and the announcement posters, the relic festivals, the history of the Brotherhood of Sant Jordi and the importance of music in the festivals.
