The Clariano River is formed in Bocairent and has a length of 40 km, it belongs to the Xúquer river basin and flows into the Albaida river.
It flows into Ontinyent where it forms the Pou Clar; from there it goes towards Aielo de Malferit until it reaches Montaverner where it joins the river Albaida, a tributary of the Xúquer.
The strength of the river has been key to the agricultural and industrial development of Bocairent. Over the course of history, complex irrigation systems have been used, from those designed by the Arabs to the industrial machinery of contemporary times.
