The festivities in honour of the Virgen del Castillo are held on the first weekend of September, except in the case that the first day of that month is a Sunday, in which case they are held on the second weekend.
ACTS
- DAY OF ARRIVAL: It is celebrated on the last Sunday of August. On this day the arrival of the Virgin is celebrated by carrying out different religious acts.
- DAY OF THE FAROLET: It is celebrated on the first Friday of September. Act in which the children are the protagonists and with which the patron saint festivities begin officially.
- PASTOR’S DAY: It is celebrated on the first Saturday of September. The most important event in the festival is the recreation of the miracle that happened to Pastor Gaspar Tomás. In the afternoon, the solemn procession is held through the streets of the village.
- DAY OF THE TIDE OF DÉU D’AGRES: It is celebrated on the first Sunday of the month of September. During which several religious services celebrate the day of the Virgin.
- THANKSGIVING DAY: End of the local festivities. At 12 o’clock the Thanksgiving mass is celebrated in the Church of San Miguel.
The Valencian Agency of Tourism has granted the declaration of Local Tourist Interest of the Valencian Community to the Mare de Déu de Agres festivities.
