The Mariola Mountain is a mountainous chain rooted in the collective imagination of valencian people. Located between the districts of l’Alcoià, el Comtat and the Vall d’Albaida, it has a rich flora which highlights above all the wide variety of herbs that have benn traditionally used for therapeutic purposes. In addition, the abundance of water has become it an area inhabited since the dawn of Humanity which has contributed to generate a large monumental heritage that perfectly complements its environmental value. All these features make the Mariola Mountain and its seven towns (Agres, Alcoi, Alfafara, Banyeres de Mariola, Bocairent, Cocentaina and Muro) in a rural tourism destination inescapable.
