It knows the cultural, industrial, historical and scenic patrimony of its municipalities
They have done so after the association Serra Mariola and the Commonwealth of Municipalities of Alcoià and Comtat have recently signed an agreement to promote the territorial tourism brand Serra Mariola. Agreement that allows them to execute joint actions and include, in these, five new municipalities: Benimarfull and the four already mentioned.
Alfafara will be the first population that will show its rich landscape with a route through its surroundings, until arriving at the peculiar Caves of the Arena. It will be Saturday, April 1st. It will be followed by Agres the following day, April 2, with a guided visit to its most emblematic buildings and a sample of its gastronomy.
In the month of April will be the turn of Cocentaina, Saturday 29, with a review for seven centuries of history: ‘From the Middle Ages to Art Deco’.
Guided tours will continue during the month of May and June. Alcoy will offer a route to show the importance of water in its historic and relevant industrial development (May 6). On the other hand, Millena will premiere showing its local heritage, on May 14, Gaianes will do so with a hiker route on the summit of Benicadell, on May 21, and the Alquería de Aznar, on May 27, with a route through Protected landscape of the river Serpis.
They will be Bocairent, on June 10, Muro de Alcoy, on June 11, l’0rxa, on June 18, and Banyeres de Mariola, on June 24, responsible for concluding ‘Around to the Mariola’. The first one with a walk through the ‘Medieval Quarter’ and the second with a botanical hiker route to ‘La Font del Baladre’. Finally, the third, bet on a hiking route in the Perputxent Valley and the last by a night out to make known the river Vinalopó and its emblematic mills; Source of industrial wealth in the past.
